CL-PROJECTS is Frank Dierickx, a hobby musician & selfmade sound designer. In the early 80's, he got interested in Berlin School electronic music. After hearing music from Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and countless others, he wanted to play that kind of music himself. Saving up to buy his first synthesizers, sequencers, drum machines and effects processors he recorded his own music, still on cassette tapes at that time. He actually never released any music but his music was aired several times on a late night Belgian electronic music radio show called 'Maneuvers in het Donker' (Manoevres in the Dark). His music was also played several times over the years since 1984 on the radio program Alien Air Music from the collage station KXLU in Los Angeles (webpage www.alienairmusic.com). He actually never stopped making music. His most recent work can be found at the 'Music' page.
CL-PROJECTS saw the light in 2012 with the idea to make patches for hardware and software synthesizers and later on to create sound libraries for the Native Instruments Kontakt sampler. He became interested in sampling because he wanted to use non-synth sounds like realistic choirs in his compositions. Kontakt was ideal for this purpose. He got interested in creating libraries himself, mainly libraries devoted to synthesizer sounds and his experience in programming synthesizers came in handy for creating these Kontakt libraries. Because his first libraries (Electronic Expanse and the Pad Factory Series) were well received by friends, he decided to release his libraries to the public for a very economical price. He also creates patchbanks for software and hardware synthesizers.
